i should have quit you thirteen years ago,
yet this solemn hold persists.
so while you're my ghost
trace your fingertip on my brow
and down the curve of my face
chasing tears.
walk silently beside me,
leave me guessing.
shift the hem of my gown.
make me forget
i don't believe in phantoms.
